Venice Outlasts Riverview To Claim District Title

The Venice High girls volleyball team added another chapter to its storied legacy, claiming the district championship with a convincing win on Thursday night, over the Riverview Rams. It took a little time to get going, but once the Indians settled down, they left little doubt about who was the best in the district.

Venice’s front line dominated at the net, while the back row anchored the defense with clutch digs and steady passing. The win marks another milestone in what has been a stellar season — and sets the tone for a deep playoff run. Senior leadership was key tonight but there were some young guns who stepped up and played beyond their years. Kinsey Judge and Mila Saba are a big reason Venice was able to overcome the Rams ambush to start the game.

For the Rams, Madelyn Marsters and Juliana Birchbauer were outstanding during this match and it is clear that the rivalry between Venice and Riverview, is in good hands.
