National Signing Day

National Signing Day brought pride, relief, and excitement across Sarasota and Manatee counties as dozens of high school athletes officially committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level. Gyms, media centers, and auditoriums filled with family members, coaches, teammates, and classmates as athletes put pen to paper, marking the culmination of years of dedication and perseverance. Landon Green, Ashari Charles, DJ Jones, Carter Cox, Tien Murray, Melissa Apolonio, Anna Raney and Makala Milburn from Venice. Jadyn Brester from Riverview and Greyson Kelly from Braden River all signed to continue their education and athletic careers at the next level. The annual National Signing Day gives high school seniors the opportunity to officially sign a National Letter of Intent, solidifying their plans to compete in NCAA (and other collegiate) athletics while pursuing a degree. It’s a moment many athletes — and their supporters — have worked toward since they first stepped onto a field or court.  Congratulations to all the signees and best of luck as they take the next big step!
