Mason Jordan Cardinal Mooney Football

If you get the opportunity to meet Cardinal Mooney slot receiver Mason Jordan, there is no mistaking his love for the game of football. "If our coaches give us time off, I would still want to workout with our quarterback, because I know that other players aren’t taking time off and I don’t ever want anyone to out work me." Mason is also part of the Cardinal Mooney track team, competing in the 100m, 200m, 4x1 and 4x2 and he holds the school record in both of those events.

As well as being a great athlete, Jordan combines his love with competition and excellence in the classroom as well. With a 4.3 weighted GPA, Mason loves to write as well. "Most high school football players dream of making it to the NFL and that is absolutely my goal right now. But if I’m not able to play football, I would like to still be part of the games, so sports journalism is an area that I’m trying to be a part of."

Jordan has played varsity all four years in high school and has worked hard to build strength and speed but his biggest improvement during his time at Mooney, he prides himself on improving his mental strength. "Being an athlete and being a good student, definitely isn’t easy, so I guess I’m most proud of how I have been able to work at the game I love, while making sure that I spend an equal amount of time being the best student I can be."

As Cardinal Mooney looks to make another deep postseason run, Jordan’s play making ability will be crucial. His combination of athleticism, focus, and determination makes him not just a receiver to watch, but a difference-maker every time he steps on the field.
