Malec Borrelli Venice Football

Senior Malec Borrelli played in 11 games for Venice this season and still had the 4th most tackles on the team. At 5'11" and 182 lbs, Borrelli continuously displayed heart, mixed with preparation and that often found him in position to make big plays.

In an early season game against Tampa Bay Tech, Borrelli recorded double-digit tackles — a career high — highlighting his ability to impact the defense in both categories. Against rival Riverview, Borrelli made a key interception, helping the Indians seize momentum and contribute to their success on defense.  Borrelli’s ability to fill multiple roles — from covering receivers in the secondary to stepping up in run defense at linebacker — makes him a valuable and versatile piece of Venice’s defensive scheme.

With a weighted 4.2 GPA, Malec values education as much as athleticism, which makes him extremely valuable for a college coach looking for a great student - athlete. Borrelli "I have been at 3 different high schools and the one thing that separates Venice from everyone else, is the culture. No matter what happens, win or lose, we will always be Venice and I think I am most proud of that."
