Layne Kisovic Venice Football

Venice senior CB Layne Kisovic brings a blend of speed, instincts, and toughness that makes him a nightmare for opposing wide receivers. He thrives in man-to-man coverage, sticking tight to his assignments, while also showing the awareness to read plays and jump routes. When the ball is in the air, he competes for it every time—often turning what looks like a sure completion into a pass breakup or turnover. 

Beyond his coverage skills, Kisovic isn’t afraid to get physical in run support. He tackles well in space and has shown a willingness to step up and set the edge when needed, proving that he’s more than just a cover corner. His energy and confidence help elevate the entire secondary, giving Venice the kind of swagger that championship defenses need. 

"The best part of being brought up to varsity my sophomore season was that I had Charles Lester ahead of me and I could just absorb and learn from a highly recruited guy." Kisovic continued "the worst part of that season was ending with a loss in the finals championship and seeing the seniors realize that this was probably the last time some of them were going to play this game again." Layne also was part of the weightlifting team for Venice, as a way to stay in shape for football. "At the end of the day, I love this game, the bond that we have as a team, it is what pushes me during the summer. When everyone else is at the beach and sleeping in everyday, I put in all of the work because I love the game of football."
