Sarasota Jr wide receiver Jayden Rivers had an outstanding season for the Sailors. 59 rec for 892 yards and 13 touchdowns. When you have this type of success as an underclassmen, you might think that is what would motivate Jayden during the offseason. "Actually my favorite part of being at Sarasota, is the coaching staff. The coaches here actually care about us and it makes it more fun when you feel like a family." The connection that QB Hudson West and Rivers had this season was something that most coaches can only hope for during their career. Like other athletes, Rivers has a level superstition that drives him every Friday night. "I wear the same underwear for every game. I wash them of course but I feel like these help me play better." The craziest part of Jayden having this type of year, is this is his first full year of playing football. He didn’t play his freshman season and a broken ankle limited him to just 3 games as a sophomore. If this is what first year players look like, Sarasota will be in a position to improve drastically next season. A tough ending to the year for the Sailors, has them concentrating on next year. "Most of us, this is our first real season playing football, so when we get an entire off season to prepare for next year, I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised how this team will look." Rivers currently has an offer to play college football but with his senior season still to come, I’m certain the division 1 offers will follow.
