Atarah Robinson Venice Cross Country

Venice Cross Country and senior Atarah Robinson are preparing for their district match this weekend at Northport High. According to regional rankings, Robinson has become one of the most impressive female distance runners in Sarasota/Manatee counties, this season. Since we know that championships are won during the offseason, Atarah said that her summer workouts are the reason she is seeing results this year. "I was running 30-34 miles a week during the summer while my family was on vacation in California."  The Venice girls cross country team has qualified for the state finals each of the past two seasons and their expectations are to continue that success. "We have all worked very hard this season and it will take a great team showing from each of us but I think we have a great opportunity to showcase all of our efforts."

Originally from Australia, Robinson said she found a home in Venice for sure. "I really love all of  our coaches and coach Brenda is amazing. They push us all hard but they are also very encouraging, even when I’m getting down on myself."

Her performances reflect speed and stamina, and her role at Venice High is central to the program’s distance success.
