For Amelia Nicole Anselmi- a remarkable Venice High School member of the Class of 2027- volleyball is a passion, a discipline, and a way of life. As a setter, Anselmi thrives on the fast-paced challenge of running the offense and outsmarting opponents. Her journey began in third grade, with what started as a simple introduction from her mom, quickly turning into a lifelong love. "I stayed because I fell in love with volleyball, I became good at it, and I loved the competition," Amelia recalls. Anselmi’s dedication extends beyond the court. With a 4.4 weighted GPA, she balances academics and athletics through strict time management and zero procrastination. "I don’t lollygag... I get things done so I’m always ready for volleyball." Her training regimen consists of relentless, disciplined workouts and five-day training weeks in the off-season. Her effort pays off, most notably during last year’s club season with the Global Sports Institute, where her team finished in eighth place in the state of Florida, an achievement she is beyond proud of.
Amelia takes a moment before games to pray and thank the Lord for the opportunities presented, her achievements being well deserved, encouraging her goals to grow bigger every year. Her dedication to academics and sports inspired her hopes of "playing for a competitive program while also getting a good college education." Amelia’s dedication, efforts, and passion for volleyball is unmatched. "Keep growing, keep winning, and get 1% better every day." Amelia Anselmi isn’t just setting up plays- she’s setting an example.
