Riverview did not simply gain another receiver when senior Noah Chieffo emerged as a featured weapon in its passing game. The Rams gained gravity. At 6-foot-5 and built with the frame of a hybrid tight-end and perimeter match-up nightmare, Chieffo has become a focal point of a rising Riverview offense and a defining problem for opposing secondaries throughout the area.
Sometimes a change of scenery is what it takes to be successful and this season for Noah can only be described as a huge success. 28 receptions for 660 yards (a school record) and 7 touchdowns. The Rams are 8-1 and in an excellent position to go deep into the playoffs. "I feel like at the end of the day, coach Cristiani pushed me and got me to do things I didn’t really want to do. Coach has definitely been the biggest reason for my growth this season and how I know playing at Riverview was the best decision for me."
What makes Chieffo so effective transcends height alone. His movement skills for a player of his build separate him from typical big-frame pass catchers. His catch radius is expansive, and his willingness to secure the football through contact epitomizes the toughness Riverview demands from its skill group.
For now, his impact is firmly rooted in the present. Riverview’s pursuit of a deep playoff run carries greater credibility with him on the field. There is little doubt that Noah and Riverview football both came out as winners.
